Bianca Turner
(SP, 1984) is an artist, PhD student in Contemporary Art at the University of Coimbra, holds a BA in ‘Design and Performance Practice’ at Central Saint Martins (2011, London) and a Master’s in “Scenography” at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (2013, London).
Her participation in VERBO Perfmance Art Festival at Vermelho Gallery in 2022 and 2018, in the 40th Arte Pará and in the 1st Art Salon of Goiás in 2022 stands out; in the opening performance of the 34th Bienal de SP in 2020 in collaboration with Neo Muyanga and Coletivo Legítima Defesa, at the 46th SARP (MARP) in 2021, at the SSA Mapping Festival in 2018, at the Curitiba Biennial 2017. Bianca’s artworks were awarded at the 36th Jacarezinho Salon in 2021 and the 18th Ubatuba Visual Arts Salon.
Her research explores the notion of the archive as an imperialist imposition, the expansion of time-space through the use of audiovisual resources and video projection in relation to the body. She develops her authorial work as well as works in collaboration with theater and music groups.
